Nursery Meals

Inclusive of the Nursery Term Fees, we provide the Nursery children freshly cooked, nutritious and most delicious breakfast and lunch.

Emerald City Nursery children have a lovely bright dining room where they meet each morning and lunchtime to dine with their friends.  We believe mealtimes are an important part of the children’s day as their shared dining experience helps develop the children’s social skills as well as the children learn correct dining etiquette.

The Start of the New Day – Breakfast

A healthy cooked breakfast is available each morning for all children.  Our porridge is totally delicious and loved by all and parents often ask our cooks for the recipe!

This special breakfast time will allow your children to relax, enjoy breakfast and spend time interacting with the other children before starting their Nursery day. 

The ‘hungry’ time of the day – Lunchtime
Lunch times are 11:00a.m for the babies and 11:30a.m for the toddlers and pre-school classes.

Emerald City Nursery offers a two week lunch menu, available upon request at the reception area.  Our children enjoy a hot cooked lunch including a delicious dessert.

Special Diets:   If your child suffers from any food allergies or has any special dietary requirement it is of upmost importance that you state this in his/her registration form as well as informing the classroom teacher.

Afternoon Snacks:  Please provide a healthy afternoon snack for your children, as the children will eat again around 2:00p.m (if your child is registered for extended hours additional snack must be provided for our second snack at 4:00 pm).
 
Healthy Nutrition:  We encourage healthy eating at Emerald City Nursery so please keep this in mind when preparing afternoon snacks.  No nuts or products containing nuts are to be brought in to Nursery at any time. Fruit, crackers and yogurts are all healthy examples however if you require any more ideas please see our handbook.

Birthday Parties – Throughout the year we celebrate lots of boys and girls birthdays.  On this special day please provide a small cake (remember our policy on nuts) for your children to enjoy with their classmates.
